Mish and Gwen’s Chana Masala

This Chana Masala has been spread by WhatsApp, made famous by my girlfriend's brother and his wife.

Ingredients

  • Oil - 2 - 3 tbsp
  • Onions - 1 large or 2 normal sized
  • Ginger - ca 2 - 3 tbsp
  • Garlic - 4 - 8 cloves
  • Coriander - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin - 1 tbsp
  • Paprica - 1 tbsp
  • Tumeric - 1 tbsp
  • Cayenne - 1/2 tbsp
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tbsp
  • Green mango powder - 1 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Tomatoes
  • Lemon - 1/2
  • Chick peas

Instructions

  • Dice the onions and the garlic
  • Mince the ginger
  • Chop the coriander and the tomatoes
  • Fry the spices a couple of minutes
  • Add the onions and the garlic and fry until they get some color
  • Add the tomatoes and let simmer for ca 20 minutes
  • Add the Chick peas and let simmer for ca 10 minutes
  • Add the lemon
  • Season with salt until you are happy with the taste
